Wakeboarding FAQ

What are all the different skill levels I can sign up for?
Girls Day Out is designed for girl wakeboarders at all ability levels. We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced clinics and our competition is divided into 3 ability levels as well so you’re only competing against girls at the same level as you!
Beginner: A beginner rider is someone who has never been on a wakeboard before or has only been up on a board a few times. Typically a beginner has been wakeboarding for one or two seasons. As a beginner wakeboarder we will be working on getting up and comfortable on the board, heelside and toeside one-wake jumps and some surface tricks.
Intermediate: An intermediate rider is someone who has a few summers of wakeboarding under her belt and wants to take her riding to the next level. Intermediate riders will work on one-wake and 2-wake jumps, one wake and two wake 180s and stylish grabs.
Advanced: An advanced rider is someone who is consistently landing wake-to-wake jumps and wants to learn big 180s with stylish grabs and inverts.

I don’t have my own equipment - what can I use?
O’Brien will be providing a full range of female-specific wakeboards and bindings for our participants to use. Not only will you be learning some cool new tricks, but you’ll look good too!

What do I need to bring?
A wakeboard setup if you have one. We will have tons of O’Brien wakeboards and bindings for you to use but if you love your set-up, bring it along! Please also bring a life vest if you have one and a helmet if you plan on hitting up the sliders (we will have some available for girls who don’t have one of their own). Other than that just bring your bathing suit, sunscreen, your boardies and a good attitude!

What is the Average Age of the Girls who Participate in Girls Day Out?
Girls of all ages have participated in previous Girls Day Out events; ages range anywhere from 13 to over 30 but the average age is somewhere around 23. Since we want our participants to have the best wakeboarding experience possible we do our best to group girls of similar ages and ability levels together.
